pierce started empowering you! in 1992. a generalist with a background in accounting, computers and art, pierce finds that empowering you! has provided her with the opportunity to use all her capabilities.

while in high school, pierce attended computer classes at john carroll university, was the art club president, editorial editor of the school newspaper, and member of the national honors society. she attended various art schools including the cleveland museum of art and the cleveland institute of art. she went on to miami university of oxford, ohio, earning a bachelors degree with a double major in computers and accounting.

pierce believes education is never ending and has returned to college frequently to improve her skills. she took courses toward an mba at case western reserve university; courses in graphic design, photography and electronic publishing; and her most recent courses have been in video production and editing.

she became one of the first microsoft certified software developers. her goal was to learn all the skills necessary to create professional multimedia.

pierce views the world wide web as an unlimited multimedia tool available to the world.

when the internet and world wide web caught on, pierce was ready to ride the wave. she’s created empowering you!'s web site (http://www.empoweringyou.com), and is continually adding to her list of new client web sites.

she sees a day when all employees will communicate over the internet from wherever they are. interactive training and support will be provided using the web, and all sales will be on-line.

her goal is to conduct all business with her clients from the world wide web and to create the web sites for her clients' businesses so they can do the same. a lofty goal, perhaps. however, pierce accomplishes what she sets out to do. a previous business, applications plus, inc. became the second business, applications plus, inc. became the second largest ohio dealer for state of the art, selling m*a*s 90 accounting software.

pierce lives in akron, ohio near the park system and the cuyahoga river. one of her hobbies is nature photography, photographing the deer and other wildlife that visit from the park.
